About Us
Welcome to Little Nest Rescue, a registered charity (no.1215125) based in Cadishead, Manchester, UK.
Our mission is simple: to provide safety, care, and second chances for vulnerable animals. From farmyard rescues to small companion pets, every animal that comes to us receives the love, respect, and rehabilitation they deserve. We work tirelessly to ensure that each one has the opportunity to heal, thrive, and, where possible, find a forever home.
But Little Nest Rescue isn’t just about animals - it’s about people too. We believe in building a compassionate community where families, schools, and individuals can connect with nature and learn about the importance of animal welfare. Children are welcome to visit with an accompanying adult, and our incredible team of adult volunteers (aged 18 and over) are at the heart of keeping our charity running day to day.
As a registered charity, we are committed to transparency, community impact, and long-term sustainability. Every donation, every hour of volunteering, and every show of support directly helps us continue our work rescuing, re-homing, and protecting animals in need.
Thank you for being part of our story. With your support, we can continue to make a lasting difference - one animal, one rescue, one little nest at a time.

Our Animals
We offer a safe and loving home to animals both large and small. We rescue, rehabilitate, foster and re-home our residents - where this is not possible our animals are guaranteed a safe space for life with us. Most of the animals we take in are either from neglect cases, or owners who could sadly no longer cope. However, we do rescue and re-home ex-commercial ducks and battery hens too.
Our History
Little Nest Rescue was founded in 2018 with the first site in Burscough, Lancashire.
Just 1 year in, in 2019, the rescue began growing and was moved to a small site in Cadishead, Manchester.
In 2021, Little Nest continues to expand and moves to Burtonwood, Warrington. In this time hundreds of animals have been cared for and rehomed including; ducks, rabbits, goats, hens and sheep.
October 2023 was the final move back to a large site in Cadishead, Manchester - Brackley Farm.
Little Nest is currently home to around 40 animals, for some it is their forever home and for others, they are being rehabilitated ready for re-home - but no matter what... they will always have a place with us.

Volunteer With Us
As it stands the rescue costs just under £4000 a month to run - and that's just the basics of feeding, bedding and housing.
We have regular fundraisers and are always looking for caring and dedicated individuals to join our fundraising team! Just some ideas of what you could do: Car-boot sales and raffles, tombolas, coffee mornings, online auctions, sponsored walks/cycles/rides...the possibilities really are endless. Volunteering as a fundraiser with us is a great way to make new friends and make a real difference to animals in need.
We are also looking for volunteers to help with the daily tasks around the farm. From mucking out stables, feeding all the animals, general maintenance tasks and more...
If you have any spare time and volunteering is something you'd be interested in, please get in touch.
We have a role to suit everyone and any of your time is valuable to the animals.
