Success Stories
There are many success stories to be told from Little Nest Rescue over the years. Here are a few of our Nesties and their stories...
Mari
Mari came to Little Nest Rescue in Summer 2020, she was signed over to us by her old owners as she unfortunately was at the receiving end of a life changing accident in the field. Our vet also found a 6 year old dental abscess and the worst case of sheer mouth he had ever seen. Thanks to the hard work of our team and fundraisers Mari was able to get the urgent care she needed at the equine hospital, and now has regular appointments with an equine dental specialist.
Mari was successfully re-homed and loving life with her new family!

Lenny
Lenny found his forever home back in July 2021. When he first came he struggled to trust people (especially in his stable) and was thought to be uncatchable. With time, patience and love he made some amazing progress; eventually he was ready to find his forever home.
Lenny is now living his best life on a local livery yard.

Merry
Merry is Little Nests oldest resident, estimated to be around 30. Merry came to the rescue in the Summer of 2023.
Shortly after arriving at Little Nest it became apparent Merry had some significant health issues. We acted straight away getting the vets involved to do investigations. Merry had liver damage and just hit the markers for Cushings Disease.
Through a lot of time and effort we’ve got his liver damage under control, we managed to get the weight back on him and he looks like a completely different pony now. He had significant dental issues so now has very few teeth but still thoroughly enjoys his food and playing with his shetland bestie - Murray. They are now nicknamed M&M.

Charlie
Charlie had spent the last 7 years living in a care home in Stockport before it was to be permanently closed and there was no one able to re-home him.
One of our volunteers knew Charlie and we were able to foster him until a new home could be found.
In the time he was with us, we were able to have a full veterinary review, flea, worming and lots of treats along the way. Charlie is now in a loving home and throughly enjoying every bit of attention he gets... and of course plenty of Dreamies!
